This page will give you a quick view of some Veteran Support Groups and Upcoming Events you might want to join us in. These can be service projects for a veteran, local missions CVC joins in with other organizations, or opportunities to get involved in the inner workings of CVC.

IMPORTANT: Other then the "VETERAN SUPPORT GROUPS",   YOU DO NOT NEED TO BE A VETERAN to volunteer with CVC.  The only thing you need is a heart to serve our Veterans, Active Duty Military and their family.

We will continue to create opportunities for our volunteers to serve our Veterans. We will update this page on a regular basis so please return here often to see where you can join us.

Veterans and Military Family Support Groups

Cherokee Veterans Community mission is not to just serve our Veterans but to also serve our Active Duty Military Members and their Families.

We are about forming Veteran Communities that reach out to and into each other’s lives to help deal with the pressures and struggles of everyday living.

MALE VETERAN SUPPORT GROUP – This group is open to all male veterans from all eras and branches of service. They provide a supportive environment and camaraderie we shared while serving. Meetings are topic-driven and deal with everyday life issues, struggles, and conflicts that are from both civilian and military life.

The meetings also provide a platform for planning future outreach missions and projects to help and serve our veterans and events that can promote and expand the ministry.

Our Male Veteran Meetings are every Thursday evening 6:30 - 8:00 p.m. Building "A"

(the Chapel Building) Room A-260 second floor with elevator access. Light snacks provided.

Call for details 678-494-2680.

FEMALE SUPPORT GROUP - This group provides our female veterans, active-duty military, female spouses, moms of military members and other women that have the heart to serve those that serve us in a safe environment that allows for open conversations that deal with everyday life issues, struggles and conflicts that come from both civilian and military life.

The group also provides a supportive network for the military spouses who care for home and family while their loved ones are deployed. This meeting helps to deal with the stresses, pressures, and fears associated with deployment. Who better to help and understand issues than another person that is or has walked that same path?

Our Female GroupMeets on the 1st, 3rd and 5th Thursday of the month from 6:30 - 8:00 p.m.

Building "A" (the Chapel Building) Room A-264  on the second floor with elevator access. Light snacks provided.   Call for details 678-494-2680.

BATTLE BUDDIES PROGRAM– Provides outreach to a homebound or disabled veteran. It offers some social interaction they might be missing and give us the opportunity to provide assistance to them if their living conditions or nutritional needs aren’t being totally met.

Our WeCareBoxes – Are filled with personal hygiene and comfort items to our deployed service members who are deployed in an active in harm’s way location. These boxes are provided throughout their deployment.

If you know of a service person that is deployed in a location as mentioned above and what them to receive one of our “WeCareBoxes” please contact us with their APO/FPO address and we take it from there. These “WeCareBoxes” are FREE to our service members. Please click "WeCareBox Mission" here or under the Events Tab for more information.
