This page will give you a quick view of some Upcoming Events that you might want to join us in. These can be service projects for a veteran, local missions CVC joins in with other organizations, or opportunities to get involved in the inner workings of CVC.
IMPORTANT: YOU DO NOT NEED TO BE A VETERAN to volunteer with CVC. The only thing you need is a heart to serve our Veterans, Active Duty Military, and their families.
We will continue to create opportunities for our volunteers to serve our Veterans. We will update this page on a regular basis so please return here often to see where you can join us.

Special Memorial Day Sunday Honoring
Sunday, May 28 9:00 a.m.
Our Special Memorial Day Sunday was designed to Honor and Remember those in our Armed Forces who paid the ultimate price for our freedom. The Military Ministry placed American and Military Branch of Service Flags across from the main entrance of the Worship Center at First Baptist Church Woodstock.
Starting at 9:00 a.m. and at fifteen minutes intervals we had two amazing Girl Scouts Kattie and MJ join some of our Cherokee Veterans Community member to Honor our Fallen and Missing Military Members. As our CVC members were called to attention, Kattie and MJ played the Echo Version of "Taps" while our CVC members presented a hand salute. As "Taps" were played many people walking toward the entrance stopped and faced the music and flags and many placed their hand over their hearts in honor and respect. This Honoring repeated every five minutes as people left the church service. The same honoring occurred by people leaving the church by stopping and placing their hand over heir hearts in respect and honor.
The ministry also place our Missing Man Tables at two local business, Black Rifle Coffee company and Keller Williams Realty. We also place our larger Missing Man Table in the lobby of First Baptist Church Woodstock.

Below are a few of our Action Teams who serve our military community
These are some of CVC’s Action Teams you can become part of. Everyone needs to be on a team to help continue and advance the ministry as we serve our military community.
The FIRST mission and purpose of the Cherokee Veterans Community Military Ministry will always be to first to lift up and praise our Lord and Savior and share that love with others. The SECOND is to serve our veterans and their families through Action Team's support, programs, and resources that can help answer questions from reintegration back to civilian life, to retirement and their “Final Mission”.
Cherokee Veterans Community will always hold strong to our motto:
“We are Standing Strong Shoulder to Shoulder, and we are Stronger Standing Together
than when we are standing alone.
MEETINGS TEAM
The Meetings Team will be responsible for the location set up and cleaned up after meetings. They will take on small but important tasks during the meeting to help make the meetings flow better and be more engaged in the meeting process.
MILITARY BOOTH TEAM
This team will man the Military Booth in the Worship Center of FBCW to greet and meet people who might be interested in the ministry. They will hand out material and give personal accounts of what the ministry means to them. This team schedules times before and after each FBCW service.
WE/CARE/BOX TEAM
This is a fun time for everyone involved. This team sorts and packs items that are sent to our deployed military serving around. This mission occurs several times a year. They will assist with set up and take down of the area and other jobs as needed.
BEREAVEMENT / FUNERAL TEAM
This team has the responsibility to offer caring help to the family of a fallen veteran, or direct family members of a veteran at their funeral or memorial service. This team is an “as-needed” team and members of this team must have a CVC Polo Shirt.
PATRIOTIC AND FLAG TEAM
This team helps with the overall setup and takedown of the area for the event and the placement of our large American Flag around the campus for special occasions. A subsection of this team is the Missing Man Table Team which sets up this display at FBCW and other locations.
PROJECTS TEAM
This team will coordinate the needed supplies and manpower to complete a service task for a veteran or CVC project. They will work with material providers to secure the best pricing of material and decide the number of people needed to complete it.
CHURCH & COMMUNITY OUTREACH TEAM
This team will be reaching out to the church community and community in general, to connect with veteran businesses and other groups with information and offer them way to connect and serve with the Cherokee Veterans Community ministry
COFFEE WITH OTHER VETERANS TEAM
The responsibilities of this team will be to set up the location for the event with all the needed items. They will also make sure there are brochures and other CVC materials available for everyone attending the meeting. This is a Veterans Only Gathering.
As seen while viewing our website, the Cherokee Veterans Community (CVC) is an Active Missions Team helping and supporting veterans living in Cherokee County. Our Veterans have served our country honorably and it is our mission to help them when there is a need.
Hopefully, you able to help us financially so we can continue our missions and expand our outreach to our veterans and veteran's families who serve and have served our country.
Your donation of any amount will help us to continue and expand our missions.
Your donation will be deposited into our account at FBCW plus you'll be able to use your donation as a tax deduction.
